Here's a set of 60's Gibson "Patent Number" pickups in excellent condition.
Both pickups have an output measure of 7.7. The lead line for each pickup is 8."
In Gibson's early days of humbucking pickups, before the patent was officially granted in July 1959, pickups bore "Patent Applied For" stickers. By late 1961 or early 1962, these were replaced with stickers featuring the actual patent number, 2,737,842. Initially, these pickups remained identical to the last generation of PAF pickups, though subtle changes began in late 1962 with the introduction of black jumper wires at coil ends and white jumper wires at beginnings. By late 1963, magnet wire transitioned from plain enamel to polyurethane coating.
These are legendary vintage Gibson pickups that pack a punch. Ships from Athens, Georgia.
