This stunning 1955 Fender Stratocaster is a true vintage gem, refinished in a beautiful tobacco burst by our friend Carson Hess. Crafted in the USA, this solid-body guitar is a standout example of Fender's early Stratocaster design, offering a fantastic balance of vintage vibe and playability. The body is made from lightweight ash, delivering the resonant tone and sustain that has made the Stratocaster legendary. The one-piece maple neck, which has been refretted by the highly respected Lin Crowson (of Gruhn Guitars and Gibson), adds to the instrument’s vintage feel and ensures a fresh playing experience. The 7.25" radius provides that classic vintage Strat comfort, and with a 25.5" scale length, it delivers the familiar snap and brilliance associated with Fender guitars.

This particular Strat features its original electronics, with the pickups expertly rewound by Lin Crowson, offering clear, bell-like tones while preserving the classic Stratocaster sound. The guitar retains its original, vintage appointments but also features some tasteful upgrades. The Hess-aged reproduction Kluson tuners are a perfect match for the guitar’s vintage aesthetic, and the reproduction tremolo block, knobs, switch tip, and trem arm ensure smooth functionality and an authentic look. The instrument weighs a very comfortable 6lbs 15oz, making it lightweight yet full of tone, perfect for long playing sessions. The guitar is also housed in a modern reproduction tweed case for protection.

This 1955 Fender Stratocaster, with its refinished tobacco burst finish and expertly restored components, is a rare opportunity to own a piece of guitar history. It’s the perfect blend of vintage charm and contemporary performance, offering collectors and players alike the chance to experience a Stratocaster that looks, sounds, and plays as beautifully as it did when it first left the Fender factory. All original parts are included in the case, making it a truly unique and valuable instrument.
